For Electrical classes, the techs will need DVOM’s (digital volt, ohm meters) Advanced Voltage-In advance of this class we would request information on what makes and models (and with what components) labscopes, graphing meters and current probes you have Scan Tool-For this class we would request information on what makes and models of scan tools you have and also what year and types of cartridges you have access to. This would have a direct bearing on the types of vehicles used during this class OBD2-Scan tools would be necessary and specific information as applied in Scan Tool class Networking & Multiplexing-multimeters, graphing multimeters, scan tools would be the tools used in this class The Ford, GM, and Chrysler Sensor classes would require the same tools as the Networking & Multiplexing For the Ford, GM, and Chrysler Gas Engines classes- each respectively would need 1 fuel injector pressure test kit geared to domestics, 1 scan tool, DVOM and 6 to 8 high energy spark testers- for each group of technicians in the class. For the diesel classes- Ford 6.0 & 7.3, GM 6.5 & 6600, and the Cummins classes you will need scan tools with diesel software-most scan tools come with this software Advanced Domestic Powertrain Diagnostics-the same tools would be necessary as the gas engine performance classes Hybrid classes-specified OEM Scan Tools You will find each and every class affords the techs an increased comprehension of each problem vehicle he addresses.
